Why do my squids keep dying in Minecraft?
Squid suffocate when out of water, dying after 300 game ticks (15 seconds). While on land, they remain stationary until they suffocate. They can take fall damage and burn like any other land mob, but they cannot drown.
Do glow squids only spawn in lush caves?
In Minecraft 1.18 update, glow squids will only spawn below Y level 30. Glow squids still need complete darkness and stone blocks in a five-block radius to spawn. Players will usually find glow squids naturally spawning in waterlogged caves or aquifers.
