OddBallers Brings Chaotic Multiplayer Dodgeball Action to Xbox Today

OddBallers launches today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (via backwards compatibility), hurling up to six online or local players into fast, easy-to-learn-but-tough-to-master dodgeball action. An over-the-top sports-action party game, OddBallers challenges players to compete and team up across a randomized series of minigames in hazard-filled arenas, where they’ll flatten their opponents not only with dodgeballs, but boomerangs, flying discs, vegetables, fish, and cannons.

Developed by Game Swing with support from Ubisoft Mumbai, OddBallers features quick, straightforward gameplay built around four actions: throwing, dodging, grabbing, and pushing. Its 18 minigames take place in a wide variety of hazard-filled arenas, and they range from free-for-all dodgeball matches and team brawls to sheep-shearing competitions (using lawnmower-like devices players can fight to control) and PvE boss battles against giant tractors and smashable cars.

Skilled players can learn to use movable environmental hazards and cover to their advantage, or – with the right timing – snatch an opponent’s ball out of the air and throw it right back at them. And even if you get knocked out, the match isn’t necessarily over, as you’ll frequently get the chance to toss hazards into the ring and trip up the remaining players.

OddBallers features cross-play with players on other platforms, ensuring there’ll be no shortage of live competition – but players looking to practice, play solo, or just compete with a couple of friends can fill out their matches with AI players, each with individually adjustable difficulty. Players have the option to customize their OddBaller or Rabbid avatars with different outfits and accessories (and store up to six customized avatars at a time). And while the game features three maps, each with their own minigames themed around tropical, farm, or city settings, players can also start a custom match with a playlist of their favorites, and randomized Mutators can alter the rules of a match to keep the action fresh.
