FemTechLab’s Power Couple Week

FemTechLab’s Power Couple Week

I’m proud to say we both supported FemTechLab this week. FemTechLab is a global ecosystem of startups, experts and investors in women’s health and wellness.

Jes Baikins (our new Strategy Director) took part in a crowdfunding panel session for an audience of 50 startups all focusing on female health. Jes is an expert in rewards crowdfunding having run her consultancy Crowdfund 360 for the past 6 years. She was joined by Stephanie Yeates, an equity crowdfunding expert at ISQ Crowdfunding and two startup founders who had previously used crowdfunding, &Sisters and Ma Joie. There were some really interesting questions asked by the audience which focused around community building and maintaining engagement. A top bit of advice from Jes at the end was to pre-record your videos needed for the last two weeks of the campaign before you even start the campaign. As you will look knackered if you record them later on in the campaign!

I ran a session called “Building great health experiences through gamification” for the Spring 2023 cohort of startups. The businesses being helped included HR tools for inclusion, treatment for endometriosis-related pain, beauty products, women’s’ services, bioelectronics, at home self-testing for cancer and a healthcare marketplace for women. In my session I taught the key theories behind effective gamification, looked at a load of successful examples of health gamification (such as our clients Good Boost, Hoogly and Care Friends), then gave them a tool to brainstorm creative and innovative ways to gamify their products.

We also both chose to become Mentors in the FemTechLabs ecosystem and look forward to helping these businesses and more in the coming months.
