How to beat all Furnace Golems in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

The Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Furnace Golems, which we also fondly refer to as “Brazier Giants,” can be found roaming all over the new realm. Fighting them early on is not recommended due to their massive health pool and devastating attacks.

Our guide has several tips to help you once you’re ready to combat them. We’ve also included a map showing the locations of these colossi and their respective rewards.

Tips when fighting Furnace Golems

Furnace Golems in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree are extremely slow, so their attacks can be easily telegraphed. But if you do get hit, you’re in for a world of hurt. Here are some tips to remember:

Apart from melee swipes and kicks that cause rocks to fly out, Furnace Golems have different types of attacks: Stomp Eruption – When the giant lifts one foot, it will crash down and cause flames to cascade along the ground. You can avoid this completely by double-jumping on Torrent.Homing Fireballs – These heat-seeking projectiles, pun intended, will all track your character’s location. It’s important to stay mobile until your opponent has stopped casting.Omega Beam – The colossus will glow brightly, then shoot out a wide beam in a straight line. You must avoid this attack or your character will likely perish.A golem’s weak spot is its stone mask/face, which you can normally hit only if you cast spells or shoot arrows/bolts.Alternatively, you can just hit either of its feet, which might be better when locked-on and you want a decent camera angle when moving around.Golems can be found in areas that allow you to summon spirit allies. Just be mindful when galloping around on Torrent since you might move to an area that causes the summon to disappear.

Striking the Furnace Golem when it’s down

If you continue hitting a golem’s feet, it will eventually stagger and get knocked down. Initially, you might think that it’s a good idea to keep attacking its limbs. However, the best course of action is to walk up to its stone face and do a melee strike. Your character will plunge their melee weapon, dealing a ton of damage in a single blow.
