There’s some confusion out there about DDR5 / DDR4 support for Alder Lake — just to be clear, your Motherboard DIMM slots will only be compatible with one or the other — you CANNOT slot DDR4 into a DDR5 slot, even with an Alder Lake CPU with a controller that supports both.
