CoD: Warzone And MW2 Patch Notes Detail Major Weapon Balancing, Including Nerf For Shotguns
A new update arrived to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone to make some weapon balancing adjustments during Call of Duty’s The Haunting event. The patch notes include changes that specifically affect weapons in multiplayer, while others will impact Warzone and DMZ only. Here’s everything that changed with the October 23 update.
On the multiplayer side, two popular submachine guns are nerfed. The Vasznev-9k received a reduction to close-range damage, and the ISO 9mm has reduced far damage range. Previously underpowered submachine guns are now buffed, with the Fennec and the BAS-P both having an increase to mid-damage range.
Season 6’s TR-76 Geist looks heavily nerfed with a reduction to close-range damage, as well as reduced arm, leg, and torso location damage. While the patch notes details several decreases, it does mention an increase to the gun’s long-range damage amount. Additionally, the Kastov 762 and M4 assault rifles both received an increase to close-range damage.
