Did The Witcher or Game of Thrones come first?

Nope. The Witcher TV series is based on a series of books written by Andrzej Sapkowski , originally in Polish. The main storyline in the TV series so far is based on The Last Wish, first published in 1993 some three years before A Game of Thrones (the first book in the Soong of Ice and Fire series) was published.
