Chronologically Resident Evil 3 starts before Resident Evil 2. Due to Nemesis shenanigans and possible coma, the story ends a day or two after Resident Evil 2 events come to pass. The game is old so it’s hardly spoilers, but due to the recent release of Resident remake I’d rather avoid any more details.
