Expect Switch 2 To Be Iterative Instead Of "A Revolution," Says Analyst

The Switch 2 might look like the current hybrid console, according to analyst Serkan Toto. Toto also predicted the unannounced system will carry a bigger price tag when Nintendo launches the product, which is expected later this year.

Sharing his predictions with GamesIndustry.biz, Toto believes that Switch 2 will finally arrive in 2024 at a cost of $400. The founder of consultancy group Kantan Games added that Nintendo’s next console is “likely to be an iteration rather than a revolution. Nintendo might add some bells and whistles to the device, but it will be similar to the current Switch.” In other words, expect the same hybrid functionality with portability being an option for gaming on the go.

Toto also thinks Nintendo might raise prices across the board for Switch 2 games as well, meaning they could be priced at $70. Keep in mind the company has already hit this fee with Switch. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom officially cost $70, becoming the first Nintendo-developed game for the system to cost that much.
