New Games from Capcom Revealed for Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass
Capcom has got plenty in store for Xbox fans, with two new games headed to Game Pass! Check out the latest news and updates that were revealed earlier today during the Capcom Showcase.
A Unique New World from Capcom is Revealed
A beautiful land mysteriously tainted by corruption awaits in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, coming to Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Game Pass. Incredible traditional Japanese aesthetics come to life in this all-new game, powered by Capcom’s RE Engine.
Take up your sword in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess to help cleanse a sacred mountain that has been defiled by those who dwell on it, beckoning forth foul creatures called the Seethe. You’ll clear a path for the Spirit Stone Maiden, preparing to perform a rite of cleansing to save the sacred mountain. Get ready to experience a unique blend of strategy and action in this epic tale!
Following the tradition of past games like Okami, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess continues Capcom’s long legacy of original and innovative works featuring striking art styles and unique settings. Prepare to experience this enthralling adventure day one on Game Pass.
Suit up for Dinosaur Combat Soon in Exoprimal
Exoprimal is almost here on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and cloud! Here’s a few more details you’ll want to know before you battle dinosaur hordes on July 14.
A second Open Beta Test is ready to deploy. From Thursday, June 15, 5pm PDT to Sunday, June 18, 4:59pm PDT, you’ll be able to experience the intense action of Exoprimal for yourself. This Open Beta Test includes both 10-player co-op missions and additional story contents, so we hope you check it out.
Exoprimal’s story unfolds as you play through the game’s main mode, Dino Survival, which evolves as you continue to play. You’ll gather intel around the mystery surrounding parallel worlds and the AI entity known as Leviathan. Special boss battles and a variety of missions with different objectives – including 10-player co-op battles – also await as you progress through the story.
Thanks to your feedback in the first Open Beta Test in March, the full game will feature an option where victory is determined by completing missions as quickly as possible, rather than direct combat with other players.
There are also new ways to enjoy the game on the way! Deadeye Alpha: Burst Fire is one of the Exosuit variants that will be added in a free title update after launch. This suit features a weapon that can be used as a shotgun or for burst fire, allowing for even more versatility in combat. There is also a mode called Savage Gauntlet where you’ll team up with other players for special 5-player missions that change every week. Compete alongside your squad to post the fastest time you can!
Stay tuned for more details on both Exosuit variants and Savage Gauntlet mode in the Xbox Games Showcase Extended on Tuesday, June 13.
A Glimpse of Pragmata
The Capcom Showcase gave Xbox fans a new look at Pragmata, an original sci-fi action-adventure game set in a dystopian lunar world. The latest trailer provided a look at the game’s protagonists in action for the first time.
Pragmata was scheduled to release in 2023, however the development team has decided to take additional time to deliver the best possible experience for fans. We appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to sharing more news on Pragmata in the future. In the meantime, we hope this look at the game has you excited for what’s in store!
A Director’s Deep Dive into Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S! The game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, joined the Capcom Showcase to share a few exciting details about the game.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 features a densely detailed world that is about four times the size of the original Dragon’s Dogma. Built with the RE Engine and taking advantage of character AI and physics technology, you’ll be immersed by a reactive and vibrant fantasy world. Thanks to the cutting-edge technology of the RE Engine, you’ll experience an astonishingly immersive fantasy world that reacts to the decisions that you make.
You can take up to three AI-controlled companions called Pawns to accompany you on an incredible journey. You’ll customize your own Pawn and have the option to hire two additional Pawns from other players. The Pawns you enlist will aid you in the wide variety of different combat situations you’ll encounter on your adventure. You’ll be encouraged to think critically and get creative in battle, taking into account how the environment’s realistic physics will inform your choices as a player, as well as how both the advanced AI of your allied Pawns and enemy combatants will respond to the diverse circumstances of the battlefield.
We can’t wait to share more details on Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the future and hope you’re excited!
