pre-setting up my boyfriends switch for Christmas

This is something I never would typically do, I am thinking of setting up the Switch I got my boyfriend(30m) with a Nintendo account because many games he'd like are on sale, I'd love to buy these for him but I'd have to setup the Nintendo to buy them. If you were receiving a Switch for Christmas, would you be upset that the gifter set it up and put games on it, or would you be happy? Just need some advice!
