What happened to Mad Max after Thunderdome? Many years after the events of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, Max Rockatansky is still wandering the wasteland that was once Australia. He’s somehow still a young man, now played by Tom Hardy instead of Mel Gibson. He’s captured by the War Boys, followers of Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), and taken to the Citadel.
