Why do people feel the need to trash talk their teamates in a team game?
Can someone tell me why people feel the urge to trash-talk their team? It ends up losing me a lot of games because instead of communicating peacefully and giving callouts, they decide to be toxic, and I hate it. Here's an example of an encounter I had with a toxic teammate a while back:
Me: "Lock in, guys. We got this!"
Teammate: "STFU, kid. You're ass."
Me: "What the heck did I do?"
Teammate: "You're so trash. You're bottom-fragging."
Me: "You are literally one kill above me. Why are you acting like you've never bottom-fragged before?"
Teammate: "You sound f*cking retarded, kid. Kill yourself."
I'm stressed out with these people! I'm just trying to calm down and play the game, and they tell me to kill myself? What is the point of trash-talking your teammate if you want to win? It's not helping. If anything, it's just extra weight on my back, knowing that if I don't clutch a 1v4, the whole team is going to cuss me out
