Why is Kirby pink? It’s believed Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto originally wanted Kirby to be yellow but Sakurai planned for the character to be pink. When Kirby’s Dream Land was released in North America and Europe, his colour had yet to be confirmed to Nintendo’s colleagues in the West.
